Taj’s Quilon London Unveils Refreshed Look
Taj’s iconic Indian restaurant Quilon, located within the prestigious Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences in London, has unveiled a reimagined space and refreshed culinary experience, continuing its long-standing legacy as a pioneer of refined Indian dining in the UK. Holding a Michelin star since 2008, Quilon now embarks on a bold new journey rooted in coastal heritage and modern finesse.
A Legacy Renewed
Mehrnavaz Avari, Area Director UK at IHCL, shares, “Quilon represents the Taj’s signature culinary excellence in the UK. With an 18-year Michelin star legacy, this evolution introduces fresh energy while staying true to the South-West coastal roots that have always defined us.”
Evolved Coastal Menu with a Modern Twist
Quilon’s menu remains a celebration of the South-West Indian coastline. It blends beloved classics like Seafood Moilee and Malabar Lamb Biryani with inventive new dishes such as Baked Black Cod and Oyster’s Three Ways. Crafted with modern techniques and seasonal ingredients, the menu is designed for sharing — bringing people together through bold flavours and thoughtful presentation.
Chef Sriram Aylur said, “Guided by regional roots and shaped by seasonal ingredients, our menus blend signature favourites with contemporary interpretations. From the spice-laced kitchens of Karvar to the coconut-rich coasts of Kerala, our menu reimagines regional depth with contemporary flair — balancing bold flavour with freshness, finesse, and a deep respect for every ingredient. At Quilon, we’ve always cooked with the past in our hearts and the present in our hands. This next phase reflects that — familiar, yet full of new stories waiting to be told.”
Design That Tells a Story
The refreshed interiors, envisioned by Atelier Wren, are inspired by India’s Southwest coast. From terracotta brick floors to hand-painted palm wallpaper by Kerala-based artist Anila, every detail celebrates regional culture. Bronze counters etched with Cassia fistula, diya-inspired lighting, and traditional Tholpavakoothu puppets bring authenticity and soul to the space.
A stunning 16-seat private dining room, highlighted by a brass marigold installation, offers a secluded, elegant dining experience — perfect for those seeking something intimate yet unforgettable.
Quilon’s transformation is not just a redesign — it’s a revival of story, spirit, and South Indian coastal flavour in the heart of London.
