Bintan Resorts Showcases Island Getaway in India Trade Workshops

Bintan Resorts, in collaboration with Travstarz Global Group, recently conducted a series of trade workshops in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Indore to strengthen connections with Indian travel agents and promote Bintan as a premier island destination. These workshops were part of a broader effort to tap into India’s growing outbound tourism market.

Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer, Bintan Resorts, said, “India’s evolving travel hubs are playing an increasingly influential role in outbound tourism and it was essential for us to engage directly with the travel trade in these cities. The workshops provided an opportunity to have meaningful face-to-face conversations with agents, better understand their expectations and present Bintan as a destination that seamlessly fits into broader Southeast Asia itineraries – offering both accessibility and enriching travel experiences.”

The workshops were led by Shakambri Soni from VFS Global – Tourism Services, the official strategic partner for Bintan Resorts in India. Travstarz Global Group, a prominent B2B travel company, organized the events, each of which drew over 35 carefully selected travel agents.

The sessions highlighted Bintan’s diverse offerings—from serene beaches and upscale resorts to golf courses, adventure activities, and its convenient 60-minute ferry connection from Singapore. Agents were shown how Bintan complements Southeast Asia travel plans and appeals to a wide range of segments including families, honeymooners, leisure travellers, and MICE groups.

This targeted engagement is expected to lead to stronger trade ties and increased traveller interest from these Tier-2 cities. It also aligns with Bintan Resorts’ broader objective of expanding its footprint in India’s dynamic outbound travel landscape.

Sucheta Nagpal, Director & CEO, Travstarz Global Group, also added, “We have seen firsthand how demand from India’s emerging markets has matured. Travellers from these markets are now actively seeking premium, offbeat and accessible international destinations. Introducing Bintan to our agent network through focussed, onground interactions helped build confidence and interest. The strong turnout and engagement in all three cities speak volumes about the potential of these markets.”
