IHG to Debut Kimpton Brand in Indonesia with Bali Launch

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to introduce its boutique luxury brand Kimpton to Indonesia with the upcoming Kimpton Bali Ubud, scheduled to open in early 2026. This marks not only the brand’s debut in the country but also IHG’s first property in the heart of Ubud, Bali’s renowned cultural and artistic hub.

Developed in collaboration with PT Mustika Adiperkasa and GHS K.K., the 101-room Kimpton Bali Ubud will be nestled along the sacred WOS River, just a short walk from Ubud Palace. The hotel will reflect Kimpton’s signature design aesthetic while embracing the spiritual and natural charm of Ubud, creating an immersive retreat infused with local heritage and lush surroundings.

Rajit Sukumaran, SVP & Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC), IHG Hotels & Resorts, shared, “It’s great to continue to expand our partnership with GHS K.K. Kimpton Bali Ubud which marks the continued momentum in our luxury & lifestyle growth in Indonesia. The introduction of Kimpton will complement our strong Indonesian luxury & lifestyle portfolio of 10 fantastic hotels.

He added, ‘We have seen a rise of travellers to Bali choosing to split their stay across different parts of Bali to seek varied experiences – from the beaches of the south to the hilly regions of the north. Kimpton Bali Ubud situated in Bali’s cultural, spiritual and creative heart toward the north – will offer that unique experience and together with the popularity of the Kimpton brand, add more choices for guests when choosing to travel to Bali.”

Globally celebrated for its bold design, genuine hospitality, and lifestyle-focused experiences, Kimpton will bring its distinctive flair to Ubud. Kimpton Bali Ubud will feature three restaurants, a café, a spa, fitness centre, and a swimming pool. A key culinary highlight will be IMAMURA, a fine-dining Japanese restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Imamura, introducing elevated Japanese cuisine to the heart of Ubud.

Located approximately 90 minutes from Bali’s international airport, the hotel offers easy access to iconic Ubud attractions such as the Monkey Forest and Tegallalang Rice Terraces. The property will join IHG’s prestigious Indonesian portfolio, which includes Regent Bali Canggu and Six Senses Uluwatu. IHG currently operates 31 hotels in Indonesia, with 11 more in the development pipeline.

Satoru Kondo, President of GHS, K.K., said: “We’ve built a strong partnership with IHG with hotels across Japan and are excited to now further that relationship through the introduction of the Kimpton brand to Bali. As we continue to expand our existing portfolio, we value the strength of IHG’s brands and their commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Kimpton’s distinctive style and heartfelt approach to hospitality align perfectly with our vision for this unique Ubud location.”
