Anini Gains National Spotlight for Adventure Tourism

Anini, a remote and scenic village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley district, has earned national recognition for its adventure tourism potential. The destination was honoured at the 17th Annual Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), held in Srinagar, marking a significant milestone for tourism in the region.

The recognition positions Anini as one of India’s most promising emerging adventure destinations, drawing attention to its pristine landscapes, rugged terrain and unexplored travel experiences.

Best Emerging Adventure Destination Award

At the convention, Anini was conferred with the ‘Best Emerging Adventure Destination’ award, celebrating its growing appeal among adventure travellers and tour operators. The award highlights the village’s untapped potential for activities such as trekking, mountaineering, river exploration and immersive nature-based experiences.

The honour was received by District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran, who accepted the award on behalf of Dibang Valley from Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
