Fairmont Jaipur, the city’s iconic luxury palace hotel, in collaboration with Raghukul Trust, successfully hosted the Darshanam Art Festival an immersive cultural celebration dedicated to Rajasthan’s artistic heritage, with a special spotlight on the timeless art of Pichwai painting.

A Cultural Celebration at Fairmont Jaipur

The festival was inaugurated on 5th September 2025 by Deputy CM Diya Kumari and Rajesh Yadav, IAS, Principal Secretary Tourism, Art & Culture. The event was followed by a Pichwai Art Exhibition and interactive workshops held at Zui, Fairmont Jaipur, on 6th and 7th September 2025.

Reviving Rajasthan’s Living Traditions

Over the course of two days, the festival brought together master artists, cultural patrons, and art enthusiasts. Guests enjoyed an exclusive Pichwai Art Exhibition along with a Free Pichwai Takeaway Workshop. Open to participants of all ages, the workshops provided a unique opportunity to engage with Rajasthan’s living artistic legacy while creating their own hand-painted Pichwai—an initiative aimed at preserving and reviving this centuries-old tradition.

Leaders Speak on the Festival

Speaking about the event, Mr. Rajat Sethi, Cluster General Manager, Fairmont and Raffles Jaipur, shared: “Fairmont Jaipur is deeply rooted in culture and tradition, and we were honoured to host the Darshanam Art Festival with Raghukul Trust. This initiative allowed us to provide a meaningful platform for Pichwai artists and create rare connections between our guests and India’s living traditions. It truly reflects our vision of blending luxury with cultural legacy, while also reinforcing our commitment to promoting art”

Adding to this, Ms. Jui Sharma, COO of Triton Hotels, said: “At Triton Hotels & Resorts, we believe hospitality goes beyond creating experiences within our hotels and about celebrating and protecting the culture that defines Rajasthan. Fairmont Jaipur is a living example of this philosophy, where every carving and artwork has been crafted by local artisans. With the Darshanam Art Festival, we are proud to carry this vision forward by honoring our artisans and encouraging the next generation to connect with their heritage. By sparking curiosity and pride in our youth, we can ensure that traditions like Pichwai continue to flourish for centuries.”

Raghukul Trust’s Role in Preserving Pichwai

The Raghukul Trust, led by Ms. Sadhana Garg, Curator of Darshanam Art Festival, has been instrumental in reviving and promoting Pichwai art. With the expertise and guidance of Shri Vijender Bansal, the Trust has worked tirelessly to safeguard this tradition that once faced decline due to modern reproductions and changing markets.

Raghukul Trust, under the leadership of Ms. Sadhana Garg, who is also the Curator of Darshanam Art Festival, has been instrumental in promoting and reviving Pichwai art, with the invaluable expertise and guidance of Shri Vijender Bansal, whose knowledge has greatly supported their efforts in preserving this tradition that once faced decline due to modern reproductions and shifting market trends. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sadhana Garg, said, “Darshanam is envisioned as a celebration of Pichwai art, where tradition meets community. Through the exhibition and the free take-away workshops, we wanted to create an inclusive space where people of all age groups could experience the intricacies of this timeless art form and carry a piece of it with them. It is not just an exhibition but a step towards reviving and preserving Pichwai as a living legacy for future generations.”
