HRAWI Strengthens Food Safety Standards in Diu with FSSAI FoSTaC Training
The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI successfully conducted FSSAI’s Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) on 26th November 2025 at the Kohinoor Hotel in Diu. The training reinforced the importance of food safety and hygiene in hospitality operations, further strengthening industry best practices in the region.
Leadership Presence and Participation
The programme featured Dr. Ashok Kunchala, MD, Medical Officer, Govt. Hospital Diu and Designated Officer, Diu district (Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu), as the Special Guest.
The event was inaugurated by:

- Mr. Yatin Fugro, Executive Committee Member & Union Territory Coordinator, Diu – HRAWI
A total of 39 hospitality professionals participated in the session, representing hotels, restaurants and catering establishments in the region.
Comprehensive Training on Food Safety and Hygiene
The FoSTaC programme covered a wide range of essential topics critical to safe and efficient foodservice operations. The session, led by Mr. Praveen Andrews of Parikshan, delivered practical insights on:
- Safe food handling practices
- Personal hygiene and sanitation protocols
- Cleanliness and operational hygiene
- Waste management techniques
- Regulatory compliance requirements
Participants were trained to implement improved food safety measures within their establishments, helping elevate overall service quality in the region.
HRAWI’s Commitment to Food Safety Excellence
With the successful completion of this programme, HRAWI has now trained and certified 3,671 hospitality professionals through its FoSTaC initiatives.
