IRCTC, Mizoram Govt Sign MoU to Boost Tourism
With train services to Aizawl expected to commence soon, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has entered into a two-year agreement with the Mizoram government to promote both inbound and outbound tourism for the state, according to an official statement.
The MoU was signed earlier this month, as per the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). The move comes in anticipation of the completion of the Bairabi–Sairang New Railway Line Project, part of India’s capital connectivity initiative. Once operational, the railway will extend up to Sairang- just a short distance from Aizawl- significantly enhancing accessibility to the hill state and unlocking new travel and economic opportunities.
The partnership aims to position Mizoram as a key tourism destination, leveraging improved connectivity to attract domestic and international travellers.
