The Department of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra is set to host an exclusive Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow in New Delhi on 26 February 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Radisson Blu Hotel, Dwarka. Strategically aligned with the state’s participation at SATTE 2026, scheduled from 25–27 February 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, the roadshow underscores Maharashtra’s focused outreach to one of India’s most influential outbound travel markets.

Strategic Engagement with India’s Travel Trade Nerve Centre

Delhi occupies a unique position in India’s tourism ecosystem. As the country’s capital and a major hub for tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, and inbound specialists, the city plays a decisive role in shaping both domestic and international travel flows.

The Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow has been designed as a face-to-face engagement platform, allowing the state to meet key decision-makers on their own ground. The objective is clear: present updated tourism offerings, share destination developments, and explore partnership opportunities through direct, meaningful business conversations.

A senior delegation from the Directorate of Tourism and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will lead interactions with travel trade representatives across leisure, corporate, and MICE segments.

A Comprehensive Showcase of Maharashtra’s Tourism Portfolio

The roadshow agenda has been carefully curated to provide trade partners with an in-depth and current view of Maharashtra’s diverse tourism landscape. Through presentations and one-on-one meetings, participants will gain insights into:

  • UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the iconic Ajanta and Ellora Caves
  • The legendary forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, including 12 UNESCO-listed forts
  • Scenic destinations such as the Konkan coast beaches, Mahabaleshwar, and Lonavala
  • Spiritual and cultural landmarks including Kumbh Mela circuits
  • Rich wildlife experiences at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
  • Urban tourism hubs like Mumbai, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad)
  • Emerging segments such as rural tourism, eco-tourism, and adventure travel

This holistic presentation aims to equip Delhi’s travel trade with a clear understanding of Maharashtra’s evolving tourism narrative.

Strong Tourism Performance Backing the Initiative

The timing of the roadshow is supported by strong performance indicators. Maharashtra continues to lead India in foreign tourist arrivals, welcoming approximately 3.705 million international visitors in 2024, accounting for 17.69% of the country’s total foreign tourist arrivals. Domestic tourism numbers have also shown a sustained upward trend.

For Delhi’s travel trade, these figures translate into tangible commercial opportunities. The roadshow is structured to help partners tap into this demand through curated B2B sessions, product briefings, and targeted networking.

Leadership Insights: A Vision for Collaborative Growth

Speaking to the media, Sri. Shambhuraj Desai,Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, said, “Maharashtra is at a pivotal turning point, and our presence in Delhi today reflects our commitment to making the state India’s premier tourism hub. Through strategic policy shifts and a renewed focus on cultural and eco-tourism, we are opening doors for investors and travel partners alike. This roadshow is more than an event; it is an invitation to Tourism trade leaders to join us in this journey of transformation. By working together, we aren’t just selling a destination – we are creating a world-class tourism ecosystem that benefits every stakeholder in the industry.”

On this Occasion, Sri. Sanjay Khandare,Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, said, “Our roadmap for Maharashtra focuses on seamless connectivity and high-impact infrastructure that elevates the traveler’s journey. We recognize that the Delhi travel trade is a vital bridge between these developments and the end consumer. By sharing our latest projects and streamlined processes directly with you, we aim to ensure that our partners have the tools they need to succeed. Our goal is to foster a transparent, data-driven partnership that translates our new tourism initiatives into tangible growth for the entire travel community.”

Speaking to the media, Dr. B.N.Patil,IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism (DoT), said, “ Delhi’s travel trade has always been among Maharashtra’s most valued partners, and this roadshow is our way of reinforcing that relationship in person. We are not here simply to present a destination – we are here to have a real conversation with the people who bring Maharashtra to life for travellers across India and beyond. There is a great deal happening in Maharashtra Tourism right now – new products, new infrastructure, new experiences – and we want Delhi’s trade community to be the first to know about it, and the first to build it into their offerings. We believe the partnerships forged here will directly shape the experiences of thousands of travellers in the months ahead.”

On this Occasion, Sri. Neelesh Gatne,Managing Director, MTDC, said, “ Maharashtra is entering a transformative era of tourism, and our partners in Delhi are the vital link that connects this vision to the traveler. Beyond our iconic heritage sites, we are unveiling a new Maharashtra – one defined by world-class infrastructure and curated, niche experiences that cater to the modern explorer. This roadshow isn’t just about showcasing updates; it’s about co-creating the future of Indian travel. By equipping Delhi’s trade leaders with these new products first, we are ensuring that when a traveler asks for something extraordinary, Maharashtra is the answer they receive.”

Relationship-Building at the Core

Beyond presentations and product updates, the Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow in Delhi is fundamentally about relationship-building. Such platforms allow the state to listen closely to trade partners understanding market needs, traveller preferences, and emerging trends and respond with better products, smoother itineraries, and more collaborative engagement models.

As Maharashtra continues to expand its tourism infrastructure, strengthen responsible tourism initiatives, and introduce new experiences across its districts, Delhi’s travel trade community will be among the first to access these opportunities.
