Modi Flags Off Patna’s Aviation Leap
In a major step toward strengthening Bihar’s aviation infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna and laid the foundation stone for a civil enclave at Bihta Airport, situated on the outskirts of the city.
The Patna terminal, built at a cost of ₹1,200 crore, is designed to reduce congestion and upgrade passenger amenities, while the ₹1,410 crore civil enclave project at Bihta aims to increase the region’s aviation capacity over the long term.
The event, held at Patna airport, was attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with other prominent dignitaries. These new developments are expected to significantly improve air connectivity, enhance the travel experience, and contribute to Bihar’s economic progress.
Together, these projects represent a key milestone in Bihar’s efforts to modernize its transportation infrastructure, meet growing travel demands, and better equip the state capital to handle future air traffic.
