Nestlé India MoU with Govt to Boost Food Sector Investments
FMCG giant Nestlé India has taken a significant step towards accelerating its expansion in the Indian food industry by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The announcement was made during the prestigious World Food India Summit 2025 in New Delhi.
Focus on Greenfield and Brownfield Projects
As part of the agreement, Nestlé India will fast-track investments in both greenfield and brownfield projects across Odisha and its existing manufacturing locations. These investments are expected to be executed within the next two to three years, signaling a strong push towards growth and innovation in India’s rapidly evolving food processing sector.
Commitment to Employment and Growth
Nestlé India Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary emphasized the wider impact of the collaboration, noting that the MoU will not only generate direct and indirect employment opportunities but also contribute to India’s economic progress.
“This reinforces Nestlé’s commitment to India’s growth story, and we are proud to partner with the government in driving investment-led transformation in the food industry,” Tiwary said.
Driving India’s Food Processing Vision
The collaboration aligns with the government’s vision to position India as a global hub for food processing and innovation. By enhancing manufacturing capacities and supporting infrastructure, the initiative aims to strengthen supply chains, boost exports, and create sustainable growth opportunities for farmers and small businesses.
