Our Stay at The Kabo, Srinagar – Room Tour, Dining & More

There’s something magical about landing in Srinagar. The crisp February air, views of the snow-dusted hills, and that first sip of Kashmiri kahwa. On our recent trip, just before the incident in Pahalgam, we checked into a luxury boutique hotel called The Kabo, right in the heart of the city.

What we didn’t expect was how comfortable, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed the place would be – a perfect little hideaway after a day of exploring Srinagar.

🍁 Our Room: Simple Luxury That Feels Like Home

We stayed in their Deluxe Double Room, and it had everything we needed – beautiful interior, a warm bed, good lighting, and a really soft carpet that made the room feel extra cozy.

There was a small sofa to sit and sip tea, a work desk (which came in handy), a smart TV, and plenty of space to unpack and relax. The bathroom was clean and modern, with a hot shower, soft towels, and basic toiletries all ready.

It’s not flashy – just clean, calm, and well done. And that’s exactly what we were looking for.

🍽 The Food: Buffet Comfort & Friendly Service

One of the best parts of the stay? The food.

Both breakfast and dinner at The Kabo were included in our package, and they had a buffet for each. The options were a good mix – from Indian and Chinese to local Kashmiri dishes – but the service made all the difference.

Instead of the usual self-service, the staff brought most of the food right to our table. It was warm, well-cooked, and honestly felt more like a homely meal than a hotel buffet.

🌄 A Surprise Find: The Rooftop Restaurant

Here’s something we discovered a bit later – The Kabo also has an open-air rooftop café!

Since it was off-season in February, they weren’t serving meals there during our stay, but we did go up for a quick look. With views of the surrounding city and hills, it’s the kind of place where you’d love to sit with a book, a cup of kahwa, or a sunset dinner.

We definitely want to come back during spring or summer to experience that side of it.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Srinagar with warm service and great food, The Kabo is a lovely option. It’s not over-the-top luxury, but it checks all the right boxes for comfort, cleanliness, and calm – which is exactly what we needed during this trip.
