Oravel Stays Limited (“PRISM”) has announced a full refund policy for travelers who were unable to use their hotel bookings between December 5–15, 2025 due to widespread flight disruptions. The initiative comes as over 1,400 flights were cancelled over the weekend, impacting travel plans nationwide during the peak holiday and wedding season.

The refund applies to all travellers whose flights were delayed by more than four hours or cancelled due to ongoing operational challenges, ensuring that guests are not financially affected by circumstances beyond their control.

Automatic Refunds for OYO and CheckIn App Users

PRISM has introduced a streamlined process for guests who made their bookings via the OYO and CheckIn apps. Eligible travelers will receive automatic refunds upon submitting valid proof of flight delay or cancellation.

The company is working closely with its partner hotels to implement the policy smoothly, with special focus on minimising the operational burden on small and mid-sized properties.

A Guest-Centric Decision Guided by Empathy

Speaking on the initiative, Varun Jain, Chief Operating Officer, PRISM Asia, emphasized that the decision was driven by compassion and responsibility. He said, “Our early estimates indicate that significant bookings across our hotel network may be affected by the ongoing flight disruptions. Coinciding with the peak wedding and holiday season, both leisure and business travel plans are being impacted. Our decision to offer full refunds is guided by empathy and a sense of responsibility to ensure our guests are not financially burdened by circumstances entirely beyond their control.”
