Renaissance Bengaluru Unveils Sustainable In-House Water Bottling Plant
Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel, a part of the Marriott group, has taken a major step toward sustainable hospitality by launching its own in-house water bottling plant. This eco-conscious move reflects the hotel’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact while continuing to offer a premium guest experience.
Commenting on the launch, Sita Lekshmi, General Manager, Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel said, “The launch of the in-house water bottling plant reflects the hotel’s broader vision of integrating sustainability. We believe that even the smallest changes, when done consistently, can have a powerful impact.”
The new plant uses advanced Boon technology and is capable of producing 2,500 to 3,000 bottles daily, enough to fully meet the hotel’s water needs. It operates through a semi-automatic system that includes 72°C bottle washing, UV sterilisation, and automated capping, ensuring each bottle is hygienically and consistently processed. Every unit undergoes stringent physical, chemical, and microbiological testing to ensure the highest purity standards.
By bringing water production in-house, the hotel reduces its dependence on external suppliers, cuts down on transportation-related carbon emissions, and improves waste management. The plant complements a range of existing sustainability practices at the property, such as water conservation, plastic recycling, and the use of eco-friendly packaging.
The system also follows a predictive maintenance routine, promoting long-term efficiency and reducing unnecessary resource consumption. This initiative not only strengthens the hotel’s dedication to sustainable luxury but also offers a replicable model for others in the hospitality industry. It reflects the ongoing mission of Renaissance Bengaluru to deliver excellence in service while staying environmentally responsible.
