Her statement underscores the hotel’s philosophy that sustainability is deeply embedded in its operational culture and long-term vision.
Advancing Clean Energy Adoption
Demonstrating decisive leadership in clean energy adoption, Sofitel Mumbai BKC now sources 78% of its total energy consumption from green energy, marking a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint.
This transition highlights the hotel’s strategic focus on renewable energy solutions and operational efficiency, aligning global sustainability goals with daily hotel operations without compromising on guest comfort, service quality, or luxury standards.
Responsible Food and Waste Management
The hotel has made measurable progress in responsible food management, achieving a reduction of 31,019 kilograms of food waste in 2025 compared to 2024.
This milestone has been driven by thoughtful planning, improved demand forecasting, and conscious kitchen practices, reinforcing Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s commitment to minimizing waste while promoting mindful consumption across its culinary operations.
Water Stewardship and Smart Conservation Systems
Water stewardship remains a cornerstone of Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s sustainability journey. The hotel has implemented advanced water-efficient automation systems to significantly reduce water consumption across its facilities.
The Intellipool System enables real-time monitoring of swimming pool water quality, reducing maintenance requirements and filter backwash cycles. This initiative saves approximately 120 kilolitres of water per month while using Diversey-certified eco-friendly products.
In addition, the Intellitower System automates chemical dosing and optimises cooling tower water quality, delivering further water conservation of around 150 kilolitres per month. Together, these systems contribute to substantial overall water savings and reflect the hotel’s proactive and technology-led approach to sustainable operations.
A Year of Recognition and Excellence
The third consecutive Green Key Certification forms part of a broader narrative of excellence for Sofitel Mumbai BKC. In 2025 alone, the hotel received over 20 awards across sustainability, guest experience, culinary innovation, and luxury hospitality benchmarks.
