Swiggy has taken another step toward supporting mindful eating with the launch of its new ‘No Added Sugar’ category, designed to make healthy choices simpler and more accessible. The new initiative allows users to choose from over 1.5 lakh food items and 50,000+ restaurants, making it easier than ever to enjoy delicious meals without added sugars.

Expanding Healthy Choices Across Major Cities

The ‘No Added Sugar’ category is currently available in 10 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune, with plans to expand to more cities in the coming weeks. This announcement comes shortly after the success of Swiggy’s High Protein category launched in July, reinforcing the platform’s growing focus on health-conscious dining.

Two Distinct Sub-Categories for Every Palate

Swiggy’s new category is divided into two key sub-categories Naturally Sweetened and Not Sweetened.

  • Naturally Sweetened: Features items made with wholesome ingredients like dates, fruits, and purees. Examples include Date & Nut Smoothie, Banana Pancakes, Apple Cinnamon Oats, and Fig & Almond Energy Bars.
  • Not Sweetened: Includes sugarless options for tea, coffee, and juices, catering to those who prefer their beverages unsweetened.

Each item listed is curated to help consumers enjoy familiar flavours while avoiding processed or added sugars.

Extensive Selection Across Categories

Across the 10 cities, Swiggy users can explore:

  • 20,000+ ice creams
  • 12,000+ juices
  • 10,000+ teas and coffees
  • 7,000+ cakes

All items comply with modern health and nutrition standards, excluding free sugars like sucrose, jaggery, honey, and other highly processed sweeteners.

Leadership Insights

Commenting on the launch, Deepak Maloo, Vice President – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives, Swiggy, said: “The festive season is here, and we know that celebrations are incomplete without gorging on your favorite sweets with the inevitable guilt of added sugar. We believe mindful eating shouldn’t mean missing out. That’s why we launched the ‘No Added Sugar’ category, packed with delicious food and beverage items made only with natural or approved low-calorie sweeteners. This is just the start. We are committed to constantly adding new dishes, expanding to more cities and improving the product basis customer feedback. Looking ahead, we also intend to enhance transparency by clearly outlining the source of the sweetener be it dates, monk fruit, or others ensuring you always make the most informed choice.”

He added that this is just the beginning, with plans to expand city coverage, introduce new dishes, and enhance transparency by clearly outlining the source of sweeteners, such as dates or monk fruit, ensuring users can make informed choices.

A Step Toward Healthier Indulgence

With its ‘No Added Sugar’ category, Swiggy continues to redefine convenience dining by blending taste, health, and transparency. As India embraces a more health-conscious lifestyle, Swiggy’s latest initiative ensures that choosing better doesn’t mean compromising on flavour or festive joy.
