Thai Food Festival at Match Point, Taj Wellington Mews Chennai

Bringing this culinary magic to Chennai, Taj Wellington Mews is set to host a week-long Thai Food Festival at Match Point, the all-day dining restaurant, from September 18 to 24, 2025.
The special menu has been thoughtfully curated by Chef Lily from Banyan Tree, Taj Holiday Village, Goa, renowned for her mastery of authentic Thai flavours, along with the culinary team at Taj Wellington Mews led by Executive Chef Saba Yusuf. Guests can look forward to an indulgent spread of vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialties that capture the true essence of Thailand.
A Flavourful Journey through Thailand
The experience begins with delicate amuse-bouches such as Meing Kuay Teow, rice noodles wrapped in crisp iceberg lettuce with peanut chili sauce, and Khao Tod Gai, crispy rice balls with minced chicken. For soups, the classic vegetarian Tom Soup Hed made with galangal, lemongrass, chili, and mushrooms, and the aromatic chicken-based Tom Soup Gai promise to awaken the senses.
Starters showcase vibrant Thai flavours, from Toho Foo Yum Mamueng (crispy tofu with mango salad) to Tod Mun Pla (fish cakes with cucumber and sweet chili peanut sauce) and Gai Foo Yum Ma Mueng (crispy chicken with mango salad).
Authentic Thai Mains & Signature Rice
The mains are equally inviting, with vegetarian delights like Phad Phark Boong Fai Dang (stir-fried morning glory with chili and garlic) and Gaeng Kiew Wan Phark (green curry with vegetables). Non-vegetarian options include Sikhrong Kea Phad Prik (succulent lamb chops with green peppercorns and Thai root ginger) and Rad Na Me Groub Goong (crispy noodles with prawns, pokchoy, and Chinese cabbage). Each dish is complemented with Khao Hom Mali, fragrant steamed jasmine rice, for an authentic Thai dining experience.
Sweet Endings with a Thai Touch
To round off the feast, guests can indulge in Pheuak Kaew Tum Tim Nam Kati (taro water chestnut rubies in coconut milk) or Muah Chee, traditional Thai mochi dumplings filled with sesame and peanuts.
