Tripura is aiming to strengthen its tourism sector with enhanced infrastructure and future-ready projects. State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury recently met Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), in New Delhi to discuss key initiatives and support from the Centre.

Strengthening Tourism Infrastructure in Tripura

During the meeting, Minister Chowdhury presented a detailed overview of the ongoing tourism-related projects across the state. He highlighted the importance of improving facilities to attract more domestic and international travellers, showcasing Tripura’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and historical landmarks.

DoNER Minister Assures Support

Minister Scindia assured all possible assistance from the Ministry of DoNER to boost Tripura’s tourism infrastructure. This includes potential funding, guidance, and collaboration to ensure that the state’s projects align with broader regional development goals.

Future Plans for Tripura’s Tourism Sector

The discussions also focused on the future roadmap for Tripura’s tourism growth. With improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and sustainable tourism practices, the state aims to emerge as a leading travel destination in Northeast India.

Minister’s Statement

In a Facebook post, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury wrote: “Today I called on DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in his office in New Delhi and presented the status of ongoing tourism-related projects before him. A detailed discussion also took place over the future plan of the tourism sector.” 

A Step Towards Sustainable Growth

The collaboration between Tripura and the Ministry of DoNER is expected to bring in fresh momentum for tourism development. By focusing on infrastructure, heritage conservation, and eco-tourism, Tripura hopes to attract a larger number of tourists while boosting employment opportunities and economic growth in the region.
