Ujjain to Host PHDCCI’s 2nd Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave “रूहmantic”
The sacred city of Mahakal, Ujjain, is set to welcome “रूहmantic” – the 2nd Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave, on 27 August 2025. The event is being organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
Dignitaries and Inaugural Highlights
The conclave will be inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, alongside Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Tourism & Culture, as Guest of Honour.
Renowned spiritual leader Gauranga Das Prabhu will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for a day of reflection and dialogue.
Prominent officials including Mr. Suman Billa (IAS), Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, and Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla (IAS), Principal Secretary – Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh, will also share their insights.
A key highlight will be the launch of the PHDCCI–KPMG Report on Spiritual Tourism titled “Faith & Flow: Navigating Crowds in India’s Sacred Spaces.”
Government–Industry Roundtable
A special Government–Industry Roundtable, chaired by the Chief Minister, will bring together policymakers and industry leaders to discuss strategies for strengthening infrastructure, responsible hospitality, and cultural promotion within India’s spiritual tourism ecosystem.
Thematic Sessions
The day-long conclave will feature thematic discussions on:
- Temple Economies: Where Faith Meets Livelihood – exploring the role of temple circuits in sustaining local communities.
- Mahakal’s Mandala: Ujjain’s Spiritual Power & Urban Future – balancing heritage with modernisation.
- Mind, Body & Soul: Wellness as the New Spiritual Frontier – integrating yoga, Ayurveda, and holistic wellness.
- Divine in the Digital – Spirituality 2.0 – the growing impact of AI, VR, and digital apps in spiritual experiences.
- Guardians of the Sacred Axis – The Jyotirlinga Circuit – celebrating the cultural and religious legacy of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Delegates will also get the opportunity to visit the Shri Mahakaleshwar and Kal Bhairav Temples, immersing themselves in Ujjain’s rich spiritual heritage.
